Description
The AC Collection Cabinet is a compact, robust power-management enclosure designed to coordinate multiple AC sources and reliably supply loads in both grid-tied and off-grid environments. Its primary role is to perform automatic on/off‑grid switching, manage transitions between on-grid and off-grid operation, and integrate with an Energy Storage System (ESS) to optimize power availability and generator usage.
Key features and functionality
- Automatic mode switching: The system detects grid availability and switches the inverter to on-grid mode when the grid is present; if the grid fails, it transitions to off-grid operation.
- ESS-aware generator control: When the grid fails and the ESS State of Charge (SOC) drops below a configured Start-Up threshold, the generator (if present) will automatically start to supply loads and charge the ESS. Once the ESS SOC reaches the configured Shut-Down threshold, the generator stops and the inverter returns to grid-tied mode after the grid recovers.
- Model-specific capability: The MS-TS500-2-A model includes an STS transfer switch and diesel generator input terminal blocks to enable automatic mains-to-generator transfer and generator control. The MS-BCP500-2-A variant does not include the STS transfer switch or generator input terminal blocks, so it operates only in on-grid or off-grid modes without automatic diesel-generator switching.
- EMS compatibility: The cabinet is designed to work with an Energy Management System (EMS) for advanced control, monitoring and configuration. Detailed EMS integration information and settings are available via QR code in the product documentation.
- Surplus-energy charging: When a generator is used, any surplus power can be directed to recharge the ESS, improving fuel efficiency and reducing runtime.
The AC Collection Cabinet is a versatile power-management solution that automates grid/off-grid transitions, intelligently coordinates ESS and generator activity, and integrates with an EMS for advanced control.
