Deye and Tank-Weld Metals Announce Strategic Partnership to Transform Solar Distribution Across the Caribbean and Latin America

KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology Co., Ltd., through its Deye brand, and Tank-Weld Metals have announced a strategic Market Development Agreement. The partnership establishes Tank-Weld’s new TW Solar division as a regional distribution hub for Deye products across the Caribbean and Latin America. By combining Deye’s solar and energy storage technologies with Tank-Weld’s regional distribution capabilities, the companies aim to improve product availability and support the expansion of renewable energy throughout the region.

Deye and Tank-Weld Metals

Tank-Weld Metals brings more than 50 years of experience in logistics and distribution to the partnership. Through a “One Brand Approach,” TW Solar will focus exclusively on the Deye ecosystem. This approach is intended to give regional distributors, contractors and project partners more consistent access to products, technical knowledge and localized support. Maintaining regional inventory should also make product supply more predictable while helping customers access competitively positioned solar and storage solutions.

Chris Bicknell, Chairman and CEO of Tank-Weld Metals, said that Deye’s product portfolio closely aligns with Tank-Weld’s renewable-energy vision for the Caribbean and Latin America. He explained that Deye’s technology, combined with Tank-Weld’s established logistics infrastructure, creates a strong foundation for making renewable-energy systems more accessible and affordable across the region.

He added that the partnership is intended to establish Deye as a preferred solar and energy storage brand for distributors, installers, businesses and homeowners throughout the target markets.

To support market entry and business development in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, TW Solar has partnered with Grupo Ocho Rios, SRL. Based in the Dominican Republic, Grupo Ocho Rios specializes in solar-energy strategy and distribution. Its regional market knowledge will help TW Solar refine its approach to local demand, distribution channels and project requirements.

Within ten months of working with Deye, Tank-Weld Metals became one of Deye’s largest customers and its primary regional distributor. As part of the first phase of the partnership, TW Solar has established a substantial product inventory in Jamaica. According to the companies, this is the largest dedicated inventory of its kind established in the region.

Luis Ying, Latin America Sales Manager for Deye, welcomed the partnership with TW Solar. He highlighted the company’s inventory management, logistics capabilities and understanding of regional markets as important factors in expanding access to Deye products throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

By consolidating inventory in Jamaica, TW Solar aims to shorten delivery times for distributors and project partners across nearby markets. The regional hub can provide a more stable route for Deye products while reducing dependence on individual long-distance shipments. Faster access to equipment can also help installers plan projects more effectively and respond to customer demand with greater confidence.
